FAQs

  • A mission trip is a short-term experience for a group of people who are willing to invest their time and money to partner with local churches or organizations. The purpose is to build them up and serve with skills, experiences, and talents. These trips are typically organized by the sending church or organization. Please note that a mission trip to Cambodia is not a camp, but a time of active service during your stay.

  • Cambodia is generally safe for travelers, especially in places like Siem Reap (home of Angkor Wat), Phnom Penh, and other tourist areas. Many visitors come every year without any issues. It’s still wise to stay alert and take common safety measures. Cambodian people are known for being friendly and helpful. Traveling with a mission team or group adds an extra layer of safety and support.

    • Road safety: Traffic can be chaotic. Always wear a helmet when riding a motorbike or tuk-tuk.

    • Health tips: Drink bottled water, use insect repellent, and be cautious with street food if you have a sensitive stomach.

  • You can choose from two different mission trip packages. Please refer to our mission trip guideline for more details.

  • Yes, there are several hospitals in Siem Reap for minor medical needs. Pharmacies are well-stocked with most medicines. Be sure your health insurance covers international treatment.

  • We recommend vaccinations for Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Rabies. Please consult your local travel clinic for up-to-date advice.

  • The minimum age to participate in a mission trip is normally 18 years old.

  • The minimum stay for a mission trip is 7 nights.

  • We recommend teams arrive between Monday and Friday to recover from jetlag and then join our Celebrations (church services). ICF staff work 8 hours/day, 6 days/week (Tuesday–Sunday). Monday is a day off. Teams generally follow our weekly rhythm, which includes various projects and team times.

  • Our team creates the schedule. We are open to your ideas but aim to place mission teams where they can serve best.

  • You can enter Cambodia with either a “tourist visa” or an “ordinary visa.” Both can be obtained online, at the airport, or at border crossings. No extra documents are needed. A tourist visa is valid for 3 months and allows you to stay 30 days. We recommend getting it in advance to save time. The cost is approximately USD 40.

  • We encourage modest dress as a sign of respect for the local culture. Shoulders, cleavage, bellies, and knees should be covered. Leggings must be worn with a long shirt or skirt, and see-through clothing should be avoided.
