ICF WAKE PARK HISTORY

ICF WAKEPARK

In 2017 we set out to establish a social enterprise that would support families in need and create jobs in Siem Reap. As a result, the first wake park in Cambodia was born.

We built a beautiful oasis with friendly staff and activities for all to enjoy.

However, we opened the park in May of 2020, just when COVID hit. It was difficult to run the park with no tourists in the country and several lock-downs over the next 2 years. Nevertheless, we demonstrated resilience by ensuring our employees' salaries and providing support to numerous families throughout this difficult period.

We believed strongly in this project and remained committed to seeing it through the difficult times

While facing the difficult Covid situation, another issue became a challenge for us. Despite extensive discussions regarding the rental terms of the Wake Park land, an amenable agreement was not reached with the landowner. As a result, we made the difficult decision to sell the Wake Park on June 1, 2023 to a new owner. This decision has left us truly heartbroken. We greatly appreciate the tremendous amount of support and trust from visitors, guests, donors, and friends of ICF Cambodia during this difficult transition. We move forward with hope and unity as a team, and we trust God completely for what will come next.
